PEOPLE'S GALLERY

The People's Gallery is located in the former Gulf, Colorado, and Santa Fe depot. It features 31 plaster statues in early 1930s dress. The statues were created for the museum by Ivan and Elliot Schwartz of StudioEIS in 1981, using live models and real clothing for the moulds. Each statue tells a story about the role of railroading in Galveston.
