Inaugural Polar Express Season a Success!

The Galveston Railroad Museum would like to thank all the visitors and staff who contributed to The Polar Express™ Train Ride in Galveston, TX this year. During its’ inaugural year, over 31,000 people rode the Polar Express™ between the months of November and December in Galveston. The event began with a member pre-sale on August 22, where over 5,000 tickets were sold. The event opened for general ticket sales on August 26th, and nearly sold out in less than 8 hours! The museum leased 3 additional train cars from John Radovich in Dallas, TX, bringing the total number of train cars to 6. The museum’s iconic F-units with the Warbonnet paint scheme were fired up and used during the Polar Express. Many thanks to Board Member Jimmy Carter, and his team of volunteer engineers, Gilbert Gardiner, Melvin McNeil, Sean McGuire & Perry Hatch. Chief Operating Officer Morris Gould & Jeff Gilanyi kept the train engines and systems working for the run of the show. Trey Taylor worked overtime to transform the museum into a winter wonderland with hundreds of man hours spent decorating. Rachel Bush and Madison Hottman put together an amazing cast & crew who delighted guests from all over the state of Texas and beyond. Trinity Nobles assisted guests with any problems while running the Font of the House. All of the actors who joined the museum for the production of Polar Express went out of their way to provide a stunning experience for visitors! Thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s Polar Express™ a success!
